Is it unusual for grouse to be drumming at this time of year?

Blessings........Pastorjim

This is a first for me.I never got into the Drumming Log thing untill last Spring when Willy coached me and taught me what I know.
I was talking today and said maybe they do drum at night in Winter.I am never out there at night to hear them.I havn't got a day pic of him yet this year.
I do know when they get into the breeding season well they will drum 24 hours a day. Then you can pull some pics from a setting. And they are not as spooky then either.
The older I get the more I realize I really don't know as much as I thought I did.

Buck66.Just listen for one to drum.Put the sneak on it to try and pinpoint the area he is in.If you flush it you know you got him pinned.Look for a log with his droppings on it.if you find the droppings you got him.
You have no idea how much time I have put in looking for grouse crap.
Even when I am hunting mushrooms I am looking for grouse crap.
